Malathion | Trade Names: Fyfanon 440, Karbofos, Cythion, Maltox, Malixol, Cekumal, Elthion, Dielathion, El 4049, Emmaton, Fyfanon, Exathion...etc.; The most commonly used organophosphate insecticide in the U.S. It is non-systemic and also effective against mites and ticks. It is frequently used for mosquito eradication in urban environments. It is moderately toxic to birds and mammals, but highly toxic to aquatic organisms with the notable exception of algae.
Paclobutrazol | Trade Names: Pac-Low, Clipper 50 WP, Cambistat, Bonzi, Tide Paclo 2SC, Paczol...etc; AKA PBZ, is a plant growth regulator that disrupts the production of the plant hormone gibberellin. This has many effects on plant growth, such as increased fibrous root growth, thicker stems, decreased internodal growth and smaller but darker green leaves. These effects can subsequently increase yields and resistance to drought & infections from bacteria or fungus. It is only allowed for use on ornamental plants.
